Stop the Bleed Training

Have you ever wondered what you could do in the first few minutes of a medical emergency—before EMS arrives?

Stop the Bleed (STB) is a national initiative of the American College of Surgeons that teaches everyday people how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action using simple, effective techniques like tourniquets, wound packing, and direct pressure. These skills save lives, and in many emergencies, bystanders are the only help available in those first critical moments.

At the University of Washington, our Stop the Bleed team is hosting a brief, hands-on training session designed for students with no prior medical experience required.
