Seminar in Citizen Science and Natural History is organizing a nature walk to record biodiversity (a BioBlitz) as part of the global City Nature Challenge. We are looking for participants to help us document plants, fungi and animals using iNaturalist at Union Bay Natural Area, as well as volunteers to help lead groups focused on finding specific taxonomic groups.

When: Friday, April 24, 1:00-2:30 PM
Location: Union Bay Natural Area (aka UBNA), UW Seattle. Meet us on the east side of the bridge over the slough, along the path marked as Wahkiakum Lane on the linked map.
About City Nature Challenge:
- City Nature Challenge is a local and global nature observation event.
- All over the region, community members will take photos of wild plants, animals, and fungi, and upload them to the iNaturalist app, which is a platform for community science and crowd sourcing observation data.
- Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan is participating in this year’s global City Nature Challenge. Our observations will be recorded as part of our city’s collective biodiversity monitoring efforts. Learn more about it here.
