Empower Through Health’s 2026 Global Health Experiential Fellowship (GHEF)

The Empower Through Health’s 2026 Global Health Experiential Fellowship (GHEF), running May 25 – August 5, 2026, in Uganda.

This in-person global health fellowship brings together students from American and Ugandan universities to work directly under the research mentorship of Dr. Robert Rosenheck (Yale School of Medicine) and Dr. Yang Jae Lee (University of Washington). Since 2021, over 200 students have participated, with most contributing to conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, including a program evaluation published in SSM – Mental Health. Global Health Experiential Fellowship –  2026 (Uganda)
Empower Through Health invites applications for the Global Health Experiential Fellowship, a five-week mentored research and fieldwork program conducted in rural Uganda.
– Cohort 1: May 25 – June 24, 2026
– Cohort 2: July 6 – August 5, 2026

Fellows from American and Uganda universities will collaborate on community-based global health research projects under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Rosenheck (Yale) and Dr. Yang Jae Lee (University of Washington). Participants gain hands-on field experience, mentorship in research design and publication, and the opportunity for co-authorship on a peer-reviewed paper, consistent with the program’s strong track record among 200+ alumni.
