The Ghana Health and Education Initiative (GHEI) has received strong interest from the University of Washington students about our summer 2026 volunteer programs — so they are hosting an information session just for University of Washington on December 16th at 7pm via Google Meet! Sign up here.
We’ll walk through who we are, what our volunteer programs look like day to day, how cultural immersion and cultural heritage are woven into the experience, and we’ll leave plenty of time for questions.
Programs:
- How My Body Works Camp – Teach young teens about anatomy and physiology in creative, hands-on ways
- Child Development Evaluation – Collect and analyze developmental data on children
- Transform a Library – Build literacy and access to books for rural students through library improvements and reading activities
- Girls’ Leadership Camp – Empower adolescent girls through mentorship and life skills
Each volunteer session is 15 days long, and the program fee is $2,550 USD, which includes almost all on-site expenses. Sessions are small, typically 4-8 volunteers in size. Sign up for the information session for more!
