The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-Northwest) on our Lebanon, Oregon campus has several upcoming virtual and in person events, which are designed to help support you on your way to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.


Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | Surviving and Thriving in Med School
Monday, August 19 | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Join us to hear current students and members of the Student Affairs office and Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) office to discuss support services available to assist medical students. You’ll hear how we support our students through tutoring, advising, mentoring, counseling, and more. We’ll also cover topics such as: study techniques, habits and routines, maintaining positivity, and self-improvement.

Join us for our group advising sessions, which are designed to answer your specific questions on admissions and the application process, but in an open session with other prospective students.

Our monthly info sessions are designed to help you get started on your path to medical school. Join our admissions professionals and current medical students and have your questions answered live.


Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | “Medical School Curriculum”
Monday, September 16 | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Join us virtually to learn more about the WesternU COMP and COMP-Northwest curriculum.  Dr. Colleen Talbot, PhD, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, will speak on the systems-based approach used during the first two years of medical school and provide information on our interprofessional practice and education curriculum, service-learning opportunities, and more!  You’ll also hear from Dr. Cook, Director of Clinical Education, who will discuss the clinical rotations practiced during the third and fourth year of the program, as well as the pathway toward residency. Current medical students will also be present to share their insights and experiences, followed by a Q&A session.

“Meet a DO” with Dr. Paul Aversano, Neurologist
Tuesday, October 15 | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time

You’re invited to listen to Dr. Paul Aversano, DO and Neurologist, as he discusses the field of medicine, the daily life of a physician, and how to think and correlate with case presentations. 

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | COMP-Northwest Preview Day 
Saturday, November 2 | 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Prospective students, accepted students, pre-med advisors and their guests are invited to visit WesternU COMP-Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon! This on-campus event will showcase a number of activities, such as: a hands-on curriculum presentation, a med student panel, Stitching and Suturing session, Ultrasound Demo, Actor Patient Communication session, SIM Lab, OMM Demo & Anatomy Lab, and more!  An optional campus tour is also available, as well as a continental lunch.
