Know Your Rights Workshop [5/14]

The Leadership Without Borders team continuously works hard to bring you important workshops surrounding issues affecting immigrant and undocumented communities.  If you have attended our Undocu Ally Trainings in the past, or hope to continue learning how to best support our immigrant and undocumented communities, we have one more workshop as we get closer to the end of the school year.

We are excited to invite you to our Know Your Rights Workshop in collaboration with UW Student Legal Services and Colectiva Legal del Pueblo. This informative workshop will take place on May 14th, 2024 at the UW Ethnic Cultural Center from 5:30 to 7 pm and is open to all of the community. Our goal is to provide students, faculty, and allies with the tools, resources, and knowledge to manage potential interactions with ICE and law enforcement and develop a family safety plan in case of any emergency. If you have any questions about how to protect yourself when attending a social justice protest, if law enforcement comes to your door, and traveling while undocumented our legal experts will be there to answer these questions.

There is a lot of uncertainty particularly around election year and we want to encourage folks to be proactive rather than reactive. We hope you can attend this workshop to learn how to protect yourself and your community and be a better ally to your undocumented students and peers.

Light food and refreshments will be provided.
