The Rodel Institute Internship Program is a summer professional development opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates. Apply here!
Rodel interns will work with smart and committed colleagues doing important work to advance Rodel’s mission of strengthening American democracy. Rodel interns will have the opportunity to support the Institute’s four fellowship programs as well as contribute to the inaugural Edwards Book Award.
Exact internship dates will be decided between the selected intern and the Rodel Institute, but generally the internship will run from the end of May to the beginning of August. The intern is expected to work full time, 40 hours per week. The Rodel Institute is a fully remote organization, and selected interns will work remotely as well. In general, the intern is expected to work normal business hours, but Rodel allows a flexible schedule when necessary. The intern and the Intern Coordinator will discuss what hours the intern will generally be online and available. Interns are paid $15 per hour.
Intern responsibilities typically include research, general administrative support, event coordination, and editing and writing. Rodel will assign projects that align with the intern’s interests as much as possible. As a capstone project, interns are asked to select one of Rodel’s programs, identify a reading for use in that program, and write an analysis of why the reading would advance the Rodel curriculum and the goals of the program.
