Music, media, and events production internships open now at KEXP

If you love music you may know that Seattle is home to one of the world’s biggest and best independent non-profit radio stations, KEXP. From their studio at Seattle Center, KEXP shares music across multiple platforms: the 90.3 FM broadcast, streaming via kexp.org and mobile apps, multiple podcasts, and a very popular Youtube channel. They also produce concerts and other live events around Seattle. KEXP began in 1972 as a UW student radio station in the Communications building, but now they are an independent nonprofit that is “affiliated” with UW. They are offering some very cool internship opportunities in audio production, media data management, event production, and podcast/music licensing.

These six-month paid internships provide students a chance to learn skills in business communication, project management, problem-solving, audio technology, database management and more. These skills and experiences offer interns a unique ground-level glimpse of the day-to-day life of a community-supported arts organization, while offering relationship building and networking opportunities with individuals throughout the music industry.

The application is open now. The due date is Sunday, February 19.
