GTTC’s Law School Leg-Up Program – Grant Opportunity!

Gordon Tilden Thomas & Cordell LLP, a trial practice law firm in Seattle, proudly offers a grant for diverse undergraduate students in need to help pay for an LSAT prep course, the LSAT test itself, and law school application fees. GTTC recognizes that expenses associated with getting into law school can create a barrier to greater diversity in the legal field. The recipient of the grant will receive a free LSAT prep course from Princeton Review (typical cost $1,800) and $450 to offset the cost to take the LSAT and to apply to law schools. The recipient also will be paired with a GTTC lawyer mentor to help with the application process (e.g., reviewing personal statements) and offer a connection to the Seattle legal community while the student attends law school and beyond.

Eligibility
Diverse college juniors, seniors, or graduates with demonstrable financial need and plans to attend law school.

How to Apply
You may apply for the grant beginning January 1, 2022. Please submit via email to AIDCommittee@gordontilden.com: a resume, college transcript, and personal statement of no more
than 1000 words that 1) demonstrates how you meet the grant eligibility criteria, including how you fit into an underrepresented group in the legal profession, and 2) explains why you wish to pursue a career in the law.

Deadline
Applications are due March 31, 2022. The recipient will be announced on May 1, 2022.
