We have become aware of a new phishing scam targeting students at the University of Washington.
These scam email messages will appear to come from a “uw.edu” email address, with a variety of subject lines, one being “UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON OPENING OFFER!!!” The email notes a remote position as an assistant to Dr. Dennis Richard.
These are NOT legitimate emails or opportunities and are attempts to gain access to sensitive information – if you receive one of these emails, please:
- Do not click on any links or take any action as requested in the message.
- Send the message (as an attachment) to reportedspam@cac.washington.edu.
- Delete the email.
- If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate email us at handshake@uw.edu.
