Seattle Children’s Research Institute Summer Scholars Program

The Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI) Summer Scholars Program provides undergraduate students and recent graduates, with a background that is historically underrepresented in the biomedical and health sciences, an opportunity to engage in basic, clinical or translational research projects under the mentorship of experienced researchers and principal investigators.

During this 10 week program students will:

  • Earn $20/hour and receive transportation and food stipends
  • Gain real-world lab experience, such as enrolling patients in studies, pipetting, using lab equipment, analyzing data and learning research methodologies
  • Attend career and professional training sessions
  • Build mentor relationships
  • Shadow physicians and other health care professionals
  • Write and publish an abstract for the program final report
