Gain leadership, facilitation, and public speaking skills! Call for Proposals – Diversity Leadership Conference!

The Diversity Leadership Conference is a free, half-day conference hosted each year at the University of Washington to encourage students to strengthen their leadership skills and cultural awareness, engage in critical dialogues about activism and social justice, and network with peers and professionals from similar backgrounds and experiences. The committee is currently accepting workshop session proposals for our annual conference, taking place Friday, February 25, 2022 from 1:00-5:30pm. Please consider submitting a session proposal if you are interested in presenting, and/or forwarding along to your networks! If you are not interested in presenting but would like to attend, we will send a registration link in the coming weeks!

This year, we are excited to present the 8th annual Diversity Leadership Conference, a collaborative effort between the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, the Husky Leadership Initiative, the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity Academic Counseling Services, and Housing & Food Services. DLC 2022 will honor the 50th Anniversary of the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center through the theme: “Honoring the Past and Inspiring the Future”. Join us as we reflect on the legacy of activism in our communities and build skills and actionable practice to carry into the future. To sustainably engage in social justice advocacy, we invite leaders to center healing, self-care, and community-building as sources of strength and reinvigoration as we look towards the future.

We are looking for creative and energetic facilitators interested in leading a workshop to students at the conference. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit workshop proposals aligned with this theme.
