Several Positions Open at the Burke Museum

The Burke Museum on campus is hiring for the following positions:

Private Events Manager (100% FTE):

The Private Events Manager is responsible for the New Burke Museum’s revenue-generating facility rental and events program. This position oversees all private events and the museum’s internal events. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, this position hires and leads a team to provide the highest-level customer experience for all clients, develops program strategies and establishes annual revenue goals.

Events include lectures, meetings, cocktail receptions, parties, fundraising events, education classes and other events involving the rental of space, food and/or drink in the museum.

Burke Museum Cultural Outreach Assistant (75% FDA): 

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for Cultural Education Initiatives, the Cultural Outreach Specialist is responsible in the areas of outreach, community engagement, and educational program creation designed to bring Burke educators and resources to schools and organizations throughout Washington State. The position will support the department’s development of Heritage Months programming featuring the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) and global cultures. Audiences served by these programs include PreK-12th grade students, teachers, and families. Program content areas include earth science, life science, and cultural collections from local and international Indigenous peoples. The Burke Museum Education department is committed to making the natural world and global/globally-influenced cultural heritage of Washington State accessible to all learners. We aim to foster empathy and curiosity for the world around us, and to support a life-long love of learning.

This position is responsible for the delivery of a variety of educational programs designed to bring Burke educators and resources tos schools and organizations throughout Washington State.

Burke Museum Educator-Field Trip Programs (hourly):

This position is responsible for the delivery of a variety of educational programs designed for groups of PreK-12th grade students who visit the museum.
