Project Medicine StudentSCARE Virtual 5K Run/Walk

On October 30th-31st, Project Medicine will be partnering with StudentsCare to host a virtual 5k fundraiser. Participants will be able to register online to receive a ticket, a link to upload their race times, and an optional event t-shirt. As a participant, you will also complete and track the 5k on your own. After the event, you will be eligible to win prizes based on your race times. There is no path limit and you can compete from any location.

The cost for registration will go directly to StudentsCare to provide activities, friendship, and support for pediatric patients and isolated seniors. Those who participate in this event or donate will get priority in future volunteering opportunities in partnership with StudentsCare such as virtual meetings with isolated seniors or visiting pediatric patients in the hospital.

StudentsCare helps to alleviate the emotional effects of long-term hospitalization. Students engage bedside in activities like arts and crafts, games, movies, reading, chatting, and more. Comfort Kits offers items that patients and families may be missing from home (toiletries, cozy socks, etc.). Overall, StudentsCare’s student volunteers help offer seriously ill individuals and families a temporary reprieve from the physical and emotional demands of hospitalization.
