MAPS “Advocacy in Healthcare” speaker 10/14

MAPS is a pre-med RSO dedicated to supporting minority undergraduate students interested in medicine. They provide mentorship, volunteering, and networking opportunities for students. They also foster discussions about social determinants of healthcare. Their first meeting on Advocacy in Healthcare will be held on October 14th from 5:30-6:30pm in Alder 107.

Dr. Hessburg, a first-year pediatrician resident from Seattle Children’s Hospital, will be giving a presentation on how healthcare professionals fight against the consequences of marginalization in the U.S. by advocating for their patients’ access to healthcare.
