Internship Corner – Academic Credit for Internship Learning

If you’re interested in earning academic credit for demonstrating what you learn in an internship, you have two main options.

  1. Gen St 350, Section C/D – Students engage in an internship experience in either the public sector (section C) or the private sector (section D) while enrolled in a distance learning section to guide reflective learning, connections to academic content, and career competencies.
  2. The second option is enrolling in your academic department’s internship course, if it offers one.  Check with your academic adviser or look at the UW time schedule for an internship course in your department.

Learn more about the Gen Studies 350 options here.  We are now accepting registrations for fall quarter.  Please note that international students are not eligible for the distance learning sections (C & D) of Gen St because international students must enroll in an internship course directly tied to their academic department.  Learn more about international student work authorization here.
