Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU), located in Yakima, Washington, is now accepting applicants through PTCAS for the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program that will formally launch fall 2022, pending candidacy status from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The program has already achieved both regional and state authorization to launch the DPT program. Once candidacy status is confirmed in November 2021, PNWU can begin accepting students for fall 2022. Preference will be given to those applicants that submit their application by December 1, 2021.
PNWU is a grassroots, non-profit health sciences university founded in 2005 by a group of visionary community leaders to address the shortage of health care workers in the northwest that includes Central Washington and the surrounding five-state northwest region. For more information, please see the PNWU website: https://www.pnwu.edu/.
The DPT program’s mission is congruent with that of the institution and focuses on improving rural and underserved communities’ access to quality healthcare services throughout the northwest. By using the recruit/educate/return model, the program will graduate individuals who are representative of these populations and who are committed to returning to these areas.
