Job Market Showing Positive Trends for Class of ’21

The upcoming commencement will welcome hundreds of UW students into one of the most unique job markets in recent memory. After months of uncertainty for various industries, there are a number of positive signs that show that several companies have figured out how to work in the midst of a pandemic. These began as early as the end of last year; as you can see from the chart below, the LinkedIn Hiring Rate for the Class of 2020 recovered to pre-pandemic hiring levels around October of 2020. Also, a survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers shows that companies are planning to hire 7% more fresh graduates than they did in 2020!
