Fraudulent job alert: “Part-Time Job” dog-walking

We recently became aware of a fraudulent email being sent to UW students, that claims to be sent by a UW student with a part-time job opportunity (text copied and pasted below).

This is NOT a legitimate email or opportunity and is likely an attempt to gain access to sensitive information  – if you receive this email, please:

  • Do not click on any links or take any action as requested in the message.
  • Send the message (as an attachment) to reportedspam@cac.washington.edu.
  • Delete the email.
  • If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate email us at handshake@uw.edu.

I am a student member here, I have an uncle who is moving to the school area and needs someone to care for his dog.

He needs someone to walk and bath her three times a week, he is offering $300 weekly including $50 for gas, if you are interested email him on [email removed for security in this blog post].

Since this is a private job contact him with your personal email and provide a phone number for faster communication.
