Asian and Pacific American Medical Student Association regional conference 10/24

The Asian and Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is a national organization of medical and pre-medical students committed to addressing the unique health challenges facing Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) communities.

Their Region VIII supports chapters in the Northwestern states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Northern California, and Northern Nevada. They work to bring these local chapters together for a chance to network and collaborate on common issues affecting communities so that they can build a strong, collective, public, and political voice.

Conferences are open to ALL students.

Due to the pandemic, our Board has decided to not host this year’s conference in person. Instead, this year’s conference will happen virtually on October 24, 2020 in conjunction with Region VI (Central states)

This year conference’s theme will be “Shaping Y(our) Future: Diversity and Advocacy”. The members of APAMSA have witnessed many conferences and workshops that addressed the unique educational, leadership, healthcare, and cultural barriers that members of the APIA community face in their daily lives. The theme should lead attendees to discover intersectionalities they are passionate about and to be inspired by their peers and mentors on the possible new advancements in the field.
