The Public Relations Student Society of America – UW Chapter has created a PR Peer Mentorship Program for students who have experienced difficulties in finding summer internships and job opportunities. During the program, students will partner with local, small businesses that have been affected by the pandemic to provide public relations and/or communications services. These services may include, but are not limited to, social media planning, creating or editing website content, providing customer feedback surveys, collecting data, and (virtual) event planning. Students will be guided by a peer mentor — a former UW student with a degree in Communication who has completed the public relations courses offered by the Department of Communication.
This program will provide an opportunity to gain hands on experience and build a portfolio of work by the end of the summer. It’s also a great way to expand your network through peer mentors. We welcome any students who are interested in the field of public relations or communications and want to get hands-on experience in the field.
