In Light of Recent Events

To our Diverse Husky Community,

The Career and Internship Center would like to reach out to you during these difficult times to show our support not only for your academic development but also for your well being. You matter to us and you matter period. We want to acknowledge the barriers that you face in your lives due to the racial biases that have existed in the US systems throughout history, especially those that exist in the world of careers.

In the past, we have been able to build long-standing partnerships with several departments that offer support to students from marginalized communities. These partnerships have driven the work that we do, and while we are always looking for ways to support all of our students we can always seek to improve.

We would also like to acknowledge that this is an ongoing process that we can continue to implement and develop over time. We are committed to learning new strategies that we can use to make a positive impact on our students. We will continue to support our community partners, staff, faculty, and students of color during this time of grief to allow them time to recharge, and re-energize so that they may continue to do amazing work in our institution. The process to create a new system with equity at the forefront will be an uphill charge, but it is something that we are committed to, to address the historical injustices that many of our community members have had to face throughout generations.

We hear you, we see you, we support you, and we are here for you.
