Google Analytics Academy
Adswerve’s Platform Support Manager, Amelia Wade, recommends the Google Analytics Academy to help you learn about Google’s measurement tools so you can track and report on website traffic and digital marketing efforts. Once you learn the basics, you can set up a fully functional Google Analytics demo account for free! It’s a great way to look at real business data and experiment with Google Analytics features.
“When looking for Digital Analysts and interns to join our team, I like to see they’ve taken the first step in educating themselves on the Google Analytics Platform by getting their certification,” said Amelia Wade, Platform Support Manager. It also helps new team members start their onboarding with the fundamentals already in place. I actually took the certification myself while I was applying for work in the digital analytics field, and I loved being able to see what reporting capabilities the software has!”
Want to learn to code? Codecademy is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages. Any course on Codecademy that is not labelled as PRO is free. They also offer a 7-day free Pro trial.
“Codecademy is a great place to spend your first few hours in a new programming language, said Adswerve Data Engineer, Zach Mitchell. “It takes you from a complete novice to building a simple application. The combination of clear goals, helpful feedback, and the price point (FREE) make it an excellent choice for a first stop in your programming career. I recommend using it if you want to learn Python.”

Google Cloud on Coursera
Zach also recommends the Google Cloud training courses on Coursera. There you can learn how to architect and engineer data on the Google Cloud Platform. Coursera offers a 7 day free trial, after which it’s $39 / month.
“Data needs to live somewhere and for the foreseeable future, it will be on the cloud,” said Adswerve Data Engineer, Zach Mitchell. “Therefore familiarity and comfort working with cloud systems is foundational knowledge for any developer or data scientist.
