Get involved with environmental student groups

Do you want to explore areas of interest related to the environment? Do you want to make friends, network, and become part of a community? Are you interested in developing skills in the areas of leadership, event planning, communication, or fiscal management?

You should think about joining a student organization! This list of Environmental Student Groups could help you discover a new way to get involved, and help make life at the UW fun and memorable. The College of the Environment also maintains an active Student Group List, with groups such as the Sea Dawgs, the Forest Club, or the “Rock”ing Out club,

Being an active member of a student group also looks great on your resume. Employers will see your ability to balance your life between school and social engagements, which makes for a well-rounded person. And eventually you could take on a leadership role within that student group, which showcases increased responsibility, self-awareness, and strong teamwork skills.
