Phishing alert

We have become aware of a phishing scam targeting students at schools using the Handshake platform, like the University of Washington.

The email message will appear to come from a UW email address, and the individual will be claiming to be representing Handshake, and offering a job/internship opportunity with Dr. Marc Antonucci in New York.

This is NOT a legitimate email or opportunity and is an attempt to gain access to sensitive information  – if you receive this email, please:

  • Do not click on any links or take any action as requested in the message.
  • Send the message (as an attachment) to reportedspam@cac.washington.edu.
  • Delete the email.
  • If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate email us at handshake@uw.edu.

More broadly, do you ever find yourself wondering if a position is legitimate, or perhaps too good to be true? We have some great tips to help you assess, and we’re also always certainly happy to help! When in doubt, trust your gut and send us an email!

Happy job and internship searching, Huskies!
