Connect to the Seattle arts community

Many Huskies want to stay in the Seattle area after they graduate, and the city of Seattle has many resources and opportunities for the arts & creative community! The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) functions as the overseer and supporter of the city’s public art program, grant programs, and a variety of arts organizations all for the purpose of providing opportunity and engagement for the city to enhance and encourage creativity, engagement in the arts and cultural experiences. The Seattle Arts Commission supports this office with the support of citizens, the mayor and the City Council.

As a student or a graduate, this office is a fantastic resource and way to gain experience while connect with others in the arts community. Check out Grants, Calls for Artists, Jobs and Professional Development in the ARTS Opportunities. See Programs targeting various audience and social justice issues. Brainstorm ways to gain experience by looking at upcoming events, projects, galleries and art in your neighborhood. Take your learning out of the University of Washington community and get engaged in the fantastic city around you!
