When searching through HuskyJobs postings, you may notice that some positions are marked as a “Campus Interview”. This means that the employer will conduct interviews for the role at one of the career centers at UW (Career & Internship Center, Foster Career Services, or Career Center @ Engineering). This is an easy way for you as a UW student to meet with employers, because you can schedule an interview between your classes and won’t have to worry about traveling to the company’s office!
Searching for On-Campus Interview (OCI) Positions
Did you know that you can search specifically for OCI positions in HuskyJobs? Under the Advanced Search option, select “All On-Campus Interviews” from the Show Me drop down menu. There are a lot of great employers conducting on-campus interviews this Fall, and new opportunities are listed every week. Login to HuskyJobs at any time to view open on-campus interview positions.
Blocked from applying?
OCI positions are different than regular job postings, because employers set screening criteria that you’ll need to meet in order to apply. These include major, class level, graduation date, GPA, and work authorization.
If you do not qualify for a role, you can find out why – Just click on the position, and look under the Application Status header on the right side of your page. If you’re blocked from applying, the first step is to confirm that your Academic and Personal profiles HuskyJobs are up-to-date. This system will not automatically upload your major, class level, graduation date, GPA or work authorization status, so it’s up to you to enter that information, and to make any updates as things change.
If your information is accurate but you still don’t qualify, you may still be able to apply. If you feel that you are a strong candidate based on your coursework and/or experience, you can submit a System Bypass Request form to make your case. We will forward your request directly to the employer for consideration, and if approved, we will grant you access to apply. Note that you must meet the required Work Authorization Status in order to be considered for a system bypass.
