Healthcare related campus involvement

Are you interested in healthcare as a career? Do you want to ‘test-drive’ and explore your options within the field? Then check out the possibilities right here on campus! UW has a wide variety of student organizations, clubs, groups, and programs for you to get involved and research more about your future in healthcare. Below are just a few ideas to get you started:

Option 1: Join a pre-health related club or student group. There are 800+ registered student organizations at UW, with a good number of them relating to pre-health, healthcare, and wellness. Just a few examples are: MAPS UW, the minority association of pre-health students; ALPHA EPSILON DELTA, the pre-medical honor society of the University of Washington; or STUDENT NATIONAL MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, an organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color.

Option 2: Get involved in a hands-on program that also gives back to the community. Examples of UW affiliated programs are: THE GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH BRIGADE, to provide health care that addresses the needs of villages in impoverished countries; or HEALTHCARE ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK, to shadow healthcare professionals in rural or under-served areas of Washington State.
