The Career Center’s annual Spring Career Fair will bring more than 120 employers to the Seattle campus, who are all looking to hire Huskies of all majors and class levels from all 3 UW campuses. This is a great opportunity that you don’t want to miss!

Registered employers will be looking to fill jobs and internships in a wide range of industries, including corporate, small business, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.       Prepare and What to Wear

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

  •  Your potential employers want to meet YOU in person. This is the best opportunity for you to make a great impression to the recruiters as many of the attending employers conduct follow-up interviews after the fair and/or participate in the On-Campus Interviews at the Career Center.
  •  Recruiters hire students who attend fairs.  A majority of the employers who attend our Career Fairs and complete our surveys' indicated they extended offers to candidates they met at the fair.
  • Employers aren’t just looking for programmers and accountants. Many employers who attended last year’s Spring Career Fair were open to ALL MAJORS! Please click on the ““Positions and Majors Employers are Recruiting” gold button above to find out what majors and positions attending employers are looking to recruit.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE FAIR

  • Want to get Spring Career Fair employer information on your smart phone? Download the "Proximity Careers" app on your phone to get updated information on employers attending, majors they're hiring, and their booth locations before the fair starts!
  • Prepare your resume and have it reviewed.  Look at sample resumes in the Career Guide and consider attending a resume workshop or lab.  Once you have your resume drafted, stop by for a Same-Day Session to get some feedback on it or attend ResumeFest on April 13th.
  •  Submit your resume to the 2016 Spring Career Fair Resume Book! Select employers have purchased access to this book, in the hopes of identifying talented UW candidates. Whether or not you're attending the fair, don't miss this opportunity to stand out! Click here for more details and to submit your resume.
  • Research the employers. Spend a few minutes researching the employers who are attending. The list below is updated regularly and will be posted as a downloadable guide a week before the fair (click “Positions and Majors Employers are Recruiting” button above). Research those employers you’re interested in meeting with by visiting their web sites and doing a quick review of them online.
  •  Practice your approach. What do you want the employer to know about you? Which of your skills and past experiences do you want to highlight? Have a short 15-second “sales pitch” ready and make sure to build in some good questions of your own to ask the employer.
  •  Be sure to attend our Career Fair Success workshop the week of the fair to learn how to prepare, what to bring, what to say, and how to follow-up.
  • Please bring 15-20 copies of your resume to hand out to employers.

 WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR

Your style of dress may vary according to the type of field you’re considering and the employers you plan to meet with. However, you’ll find that most employers will be wearing business-casual attire, which is a safe bet for you as well. For example, consider wearing pressed slacks or a skirt with a blouse, sweater, or collared shirt. Please note that lockers or storage facilities are not available; to increase the ease with which you can move through the fair, we recommend trying to minimize what you bring with you.

A special thank you to our 2016 Spring Career Fair sponsors!
